Summer 2013

Dear friends,

We hope that you are all making the most of the summer weather now that it has finally arrived and like us will also manage to find some time for relaxation. We have been making plans for next season’s Pleyel concerts and are very happy to be able to announce a new series at Alderley Edge Methodist Church which will take place on Sunday afternoons at 3pm and will of course include time for afternoon tea. The first of these, on September 29th will feature the ever popular “Trout” quintet by Schubert alongside Mozart’s wonderful G minor piano quartet. Those who missed this programme at the Didsbury coffee concerts last year will hopefully be able to enjoy it at Alderley Edge, where there is parking on site and comfortable modern seating.

Other dates for the diary in this series will be :

·         SUNDAY November 3rd

·         SUNDAY February 23rd

·         SUNDAY March 30th

Tickets, priced at £10 (free for those under 15) are already available online through our website or by ringing the box office on 0161 976 5955

We are also continuing to perform at the Didsbury coffee concerts at Emmanuel Church. The wonderful news about these concerts is that, in keeping with the student coffee concerts which are held there throughout term time, entry is free but we ask that if you have enjoyed our performance you give a paper donation before you leave!

Didsbury concerts begin at 11am and coffee will be served at the interval. As a bonus you have the chance to sample Sarah’s amazing baking! The next date for your diary is:

·         SATURDAY 7th September

          Sarah Ewins – violin

          Harvey Davies – piano

          Heather Bills – cello

Sarah & Harvey continue to explore the works for piano & violin by W.A.Mozart. They will perform K.26 in E flat, K.27 in G and K.28 in C and Heather will join them for  Mendelssohn’s passionate and lyrical trio in D Minor Op49.

We look forward to seeing you there!
