Description
Today’s Schubert is the lovely string trio in B flat major from 1817, written when the composer was nearly twenty. It is full of charm and Classical grace and should be heard more frequently! We also play Schumann’s fabulous piano quartet, Op. 47, composed in his so-called ‘year of chamber music’ 1842. Clearly a partner work to the equally wonderful piano quintet, op. 44, it shares many features, but is perhaps purer chamber music.
